Look for comfortable seating, shade and a route that suits sightseeing. If others want a water activity, make sure there is a pleasant alternative for those staying aboard.
Follow the crew's instructions
Ask about safety arrangements and suitable equipment for the planned outing. Do not treat participation in water activities as compulsory or assume flotation equipment removes the need for supervision.
For the group organiser
Explain in advance that guests can opt out of swimming. Nobody should feel pressured to join an activity outside their comfort or ability.
