Planning yacht photographs with Atlantis in the background

Atlantis on Palm Jumeirah is a recognisable backdrop, but good photographs require more than naming the landmark. Light, distance, weather and the yacht's permitted position all matter.

Brief the team early

Tell the manager that these photographs are a priority. Ask whether the route can reasonably include a suitable view within your booked hours.

Prepare a short shot list

Choose the people and images that matter most. Have everyone ready before the opportunity arrives, and follow the crew's instructions about where to stand.

Manage expectations

Use reference images to communicate style, not as a promise of an identical result. The captain cannot always reproduce another yacht's exact position or angle.
